Physician Depression and Suicide Prevention

Physicians die by suicide more frequently than others of their gender and age in both the general population and other professional occupations. Even when physicians are aware of their depressed condition, a number of barriers discourage them from seeking help. SPI works with national associations of physicians and regulators to eliminate these barriers which include the policies and practices of many state licensing boards and hospitals.
